The designer, Mariko Tsuchiyama born and raised in Nagasaki, realised her passion for jewellery at a young age in Japan where she visiting pearl farm.  After graduating university, she ventured into fashion working at high end fashion house which inspired her creativity to become a maker of handmade jewellery. 

Initially trained in silversmithing at Hiko Mizuno College of Jewelry in Tokyo then moved to London and studied at Central Saint Martins. At the same time, she worked for Spanish contemporary jewellery artist Marc Monzó, and English leather jewellery designer Rosita Bonita. Soon afterwards, her passion for making jewellery independently launching her own brand in 2012. 

Her works have been displayed at different contemporary craft galleries worldwide, gaining press releases in many countries.

Mariko Tsuchiyama’s Brand is stocked at high-end fashion boutiques throughout Japan and Europe.

Being based next to the sea in Brighton, England her studio invokes creativity and the inspiration to continue create beautiful collections.
